Child & Parent Disco Parties
[for the under 7's]
I am a full time father, as well as being a musician, composer, artist and DJ.
I have really enjoyed introducing my young daughter Scarlett to sound, music, and dancing.
She put on her first record on her 2nd birthday. What a proud daddy I was indeed !
In the photo below she is choosing, playing and dancing to records all on her own.
[She even puts them away at the end]

This experience inspired me to do a workshop on sound, making music, and dancing at her nursery.
I am now hosting parties to share this passion with children and their parents, relatives and friends.

I'm asking the children above to pick a record at random to play next - it's the Lucky Dip Disco !

My specialty is playing sound games & DJing classic childhood music from the 30's to 00's on vinyl.
I like children's music the way it was when I grew up, maybe you feel the same.
This was an era where the music was beautiful, innocent, and produced with high levels of craftsmanship.
I Do also bring some classic music on CD as well for them to enjoy. I also take requests from you before the event.
The last one I did was a tinkerbell party so I worked around that theme.
*** I do private parties for children under 7 by recommendation for friends of friends of friends etc and charge £199 ***
My collection of classic children's music on 33, 45 & 78rpm vinyl includes:
Classic Nursery Rhymes, Teddy Bears Picnic, The Ugly Duckling, The Wombles, Rupert the Bear, The Smurfs,
Puff the Magic Dragon, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Sounds of the Sea, Birds and the Bees, Winnie the Pooh,
Do Re Mi, Mary Poppins, Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf, 70's Happy Birthday, Ten Green Bottles, Popeye, Sleeping Beauty,
Bing crosby sings Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, Cinderella, Thunderbirds, Peter and The Wolf, The ABC of Sound, Star Trek,
The Wizard of Oz, Nellie The Elephant, Bambi, 40,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and of course The Jungle Book, Bare Necessities
Lots of spoken word classics, Beatrix Potter, TS Eliot's Practical Cats, Hans Christian Anderson, AA Milne, Johnny Morris
These are of course most suitable for the under 7's
For all age groups we dance to music from the 30's to the 00's
Starting with The 30's Charleston, 50's Elvis etc, 60's Beach Boys etc, Classic 70's Disco, Retro 80's Pop, and 90's electronic dance.
The children get to take part in choosing, handling and playing the vinyl, which is a wonderful way to interact with music.
Dancing to all sorts of music, Making music & sound collages, Singing to classic nursery rhymes like twinkle twinkle little star etc,
Various Games like making all the sounds on my ABC of Sound 7", playing musical pass the parcel & musical statues.
We can record sounds into a digital recorder, bang cymbals, dance with scarves etc etc, just have fun with sound together.
One of my activities includes the children recreating my Love Song project, by all singing the word Love for as long as they can.
I understand that around 7 years old, children start to get embarrassed by their parents dancing.
Of course it is not compulsory. I think though that classic dancing music is good for all ages, together if possible.
Dancing is an important part of growing up. I promise never to play the Birdy Song or Agadoo, but old style Hokey Cokey,
and the Conga, are great fun in my experience I also bring disco lights and a bubble machine, which is a guaranteed hit.
I am CRB police checked and approved with full disclosure for working with children
